LOW TABLE by EMILE GALLè (1846-1904) in tinted and carved beech, the slightly polylobed circular tray decorated with a bird perched on a branch and foliage in fruit wood marquetry, resting on four tapered legs. Signed GALLE in marquetry on the plateau.Epoque art nouveau early twentieth century. Emile Gallé (1846-1904) Born in Nancy on May 4, 1846 and died in the same city on September 23, 1904, is an industrialist, master glassmaker, cabinetmaker and ceramist French. He is founder and first president of the School of Nancy in 1901. A child of art and commerce, he is one of the most outstanding figures of the applied arts of his time and one of the pioneers of Art new TABLE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION, RESTAURED BY OUR WORKSHOP.
