"Pendulum Porcelain Vase From Darte"
Amphora clock made of hard porcelain, attributed to the Manufacture des Frères Darte in Paris. Decorations of vines, interlacing and sphinges, shiny gilded and amati with agate on matt red ocher and antique green background. Openwork base of vases and acanthus leaves. Square pedestal with reserves for children's scenes. Wing-shaped eagle-shaped catch and lion's head. Enamelled white dial with Roman numerals signed "Barrand à Paris". Ring movement, wire suspension, revised and guaranteed. Empire period around 1810. Excellent general condition. Similar model reproduced in the Kjellberg, Encyclopedia of the French clock. Étienne Victor Barrand (1759-1832), watchmaker rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré in 1805. He made a movement for a bronze by Ravrio Antoine André for Napoleon 1st.
