Large group in bronze patina light brown signed DELABRIERE on the terrace Representing two relay dogs chained by a rope to a hunting pole We noticed one of the two dogs attracted by a lizard Fonte old edition, late nineteenth century Beautiful patina In very good condition Weight 20, 20.5 kg * Paul-Edouard DELABRIERE 1829-1912 is a French animal sculptor born in Paris. He first studied painting with the painter Jean-Baptiste Delestre before turning to sculpture. He exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1848 to 1898 and obtained an honorable mention in 1859. An animal sculptor influenced by Antoine Louis BARYE, he almost exclusively performs groups or statuettes of animals.
