Object description :

"Charles Topino (master In Paris In 1773), Console Half Moon Louis XVI, XVIII"
Louis XVI half moon console in marquetry decorated with flowers and leaves, the drawer is lined with brass beads, tapered square feet are adorned with a bell-shaped flower inlay and end with squared bronze shoes. Marble breach of Aleppo. Stamped C.TOPINO and punch of Jurande. Period XVIII, around 1770. (Restored marble) Charles TOPINO Master July 14, 1773. He settled in Paris in 1745 and worked as a free laborer in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine. His reputation in France and abroad brings him a large clientele. He provides furniture to Boudin, Migeon, Delorme, Héricourt (...) Mismanagement and the Revolution forces him to file for bankruptcy. He has worked for many cabinetmakers, some of great renown. It is likely that many of his works appear under their signature. Sometimes his stamp appears next to theirs. His production is characterized by very personal and very recognizable Transition and Louis XVI style works. The curious marquetry depicting vases, teapots, cups, bowls, writing cases, or even books and playing cards are the most characteristic elements of his own way. It is stamped "C.TOPINO". https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Topino
