Heriz Circus 1950 Persian Rug flag

Object description :

"Heriz Circus 1950 Persian Rug"
Entirely knotted by hand, pure wool, vegetable dyes, size: 273cmX186cm. Here is a Heriz rug: They are made of a high quality wool that makes them resistant and very suitable for public places and dining rooms, where wear is more frequent. These oriental rugs are hand-knotted in northeastern Iran and often feature large central and geometric medallions. ** Heriz is considered one of the most beautiful single carpets in all of Iran. The Heriz rug is a type of Persian rug. It is knotted in about thirty villages scattered east of Tabriz, including Heriz, Merivan, Georavan, Bakhshaih. These carpets are from the family of Tabriz carpets but their particular performance requires them to be classified separately. The artisans weaving the Tabriz and Heriz carpets use the same cartons but with a different interpretation: those of Heriz, unaware of the art of making curved lines, modify the appearance of the arabesques drawn on the cartons by weaving them with perpendicular, horizontal and oblique lines. From the same drawing can be born two different carpets: a Tabriz and a Heriz.
