"Guglielmo Pugi (1850-1915)."
Marble sculpture of a naked woman squatting on a mound, at her feet a stream, holding in her right hand a shell. Pretty wrapped cap. Rest on a marble base molded and carved. Beautiful patina, signed Pugi on the back. 1st quarter of the twentieth. Italian sculptor who lived in Florence from 1870 to 1915. He designed the bust of King Umberto the Italian who stands on the main square in his hometown of Fiesole. Many of his sculptures are exhibited in the Historical Alabaster Museum in Volterra, Italy. (restoration at the left rear corner)
