"Small Amputation Saw With Ivory Handle, Late Eighteenth Century"
Nice model of a Benjamin Bell type saw for the amputation of the small limbs with a round handle in turned ivory. We can date it from the end of the 18th century. For a very similar copy, see Bennion, page 21, pl. 7. The saw has retained its original 14 cm blade and 9.5 cm ivory handle. Everything is entirely original. Quite rare in this state.
