"Polychrome Wooden Bell, 18th, Convent Art, Capuchin Monk"Here is an extraordinary object, a carved wooden bell and polychrome, head mounted on an axis, flying with turned wood, it features a Capuchin monk reading. It's a fun, primitive, maybe a convent work, I date it from the eighteenth century, or quite early nineteenth. When the bell is ringing, with the moving head, it makes a sound of clapper, sonorous and clear. (Maybe a reading bell for conventual meals taken in silence)?
Dimensions: 14cm and 15cm and 7cm.
Condition: good, everything is original, I have repaired the collar of the hood, which was broken at the axis of the movable head, there is a chip to the beard of the monk, and small holes of worm at front, see our detailed pictures. Sending colissimo insured . Tel 0665241111
