Genre and portraits painter, Eugènie Salanson was formed first by Crochet, a painter from Calais, than she entered into Académie Julian in Paris to study with Léon Cogniet and William Bouguereau. She exhibited regularly at the Salon in Paris, other salons in France and abroad. She obtained several medals, for exemple the bronze medal in the International Exhibition held at the Crystal Palace in 1884.
