Illustrating in particular this undergrowth landscape which is a fine example of its production and reveals its attachment to rock painting. In the "landscape composed" of rigor in the 18th century, Pillement prefers reverie and poetic meditation. He paints from nature, drawing inspiration from his many drawings and watercolors made during his many travels across Europe. the old farm, the undergrowth strewn with old tree trunks, in the center of the composition, the finders at the foot of the tree the child hanging on the branches taking the eggs are all picturesque elements which are united with a great natural and a lot of freshness.
