Object description :

" Console In Mahogany With Gild Wood Caryatids, Empire Period, Early 19th Century"
An Empire console in mahogany, mahogany veneer and gilt beech. Black marble on the top, resting on a base formed by two straight feet in the back and two winged caryatids in gilt wood at the front. Although caryatids in carved wood are of very high quality, the whole is a provincial work (of high quality) of the early 19th century.

It was common for provincial cabinetmakers to purchase from various merchants various pieces of furniture such as marquetry panels, carved elements, decorative bronzes, and many other elements.

Condition report: restored in our workshop in March 2019. Traces of old restorations
