Black stone, stumps and highlights white gouache on blue paper. Size 35.3 cm x 47.3 cm. The work is in good condition. I report a small tear and bend at the top left (in the corner), a slight epidermis above the head of the character on the left and some foxing down right, without gravity. We know three large paintings of Guérin dated 1815, illustrating the tragedy of Racine. Provenance: sale Christie's Monaco, December 7, 1990, as formerly attributed to A. Pajou. Sale T.
