"Louis XVI Period Marquetry Secretary Simulating A Chiffonnier"Louis XVI period marquetry secretary. Parisian work, circa 1780, unsigned.
Interesting model, our secretary simulates a chiffonier. Beautiful model, the use of satin wood (rare veneer used for luxury cabinetry) creates an interesting effect that makes a refreshing change to the classic rosewood and amaranth models.
Our secretary is in excellent condition; it has been completely restored with a new varnish.
Some bronzes were changed in the nineteenth century). No accidents to report.
NB: we also sell a Louis XVI commode that could make a good match (similar colors and finishes)
