JULIE Philipault (1780-1834) "Portrait of a mother and daughter" 1818 oil on canvas signed and dated right over the shoulder of the mother. "Julie Phlipault, 1818" In his beautiful antique restoration original gilt wood decorated with friezes palmettes frame. Dimensions: 90 x 71 cm canvas. Frame 111 x 92 cm. The works of Julie Philipault are very rare on the art market. Julie Philipault was a painter of portraits, installed at the Palais des Beaux-Arts and rue Mazarine. She was a pupil of the great portraitist Hersent. She exhibited at the Imperial and Royal Museum from 1812 to 1824 several portraits among which include that of Mr. gaiety lieutenant colonel of the soldiers of the Imperial Guard, in 1814 the Duchess of Angouleme, in 1817 reading Racine Athalie before Louis XIV Madame de Maintenon. Julie Philipault has medaled in 1814 and 1817. A portrait of the painter Marlet by Julie Philipault is kept at Cantini museum in Marseille.
