"Panel Carved Polychrome - 17th Century Era"
Carved wooden panel and polychrome depicting a Saint in a landscape of mountain and architecture, cloudy sky with an angel and twirling bees, around him, under his feet is depicted a recumbent. Representation of Gregorio Ostiense, bishop at Ostia then Cardinal. He is revered as a Saint of the Catholic Church. These relics were kept in a basilica in Sorlada (Navarre Spain). He is revered for eradicating pests in the fields to save crops. Framing of molded origin. To report accidents and lacks, old restorations. Period late twelfth early eighteenth century. Work presumably Northern Italy.
