"Corto Maltese : "study For Movie""When Hugo Pratt created Corto Maltese, I doubt he imagined that he was giving birth to one of the greatest myths in Comics.
The phlegmatic sailor and the countless "secondary" characters crossed numerous albums in the sandstone of adventures with a graphic design of a modernity that would make a date and influenced a generation of artists.
"The Salt Sea Ballad" was adapted in animated cartoon after the death of Pratt and I think this illustration is a project of setting up.
Treated with Indian ink with a pen and brush on a slight blue line, it was completed by a collage of the original title with indications, dedication, date 2003 and a signature that I did not identify.
The illustration measures 7 x 17 cm approximately, the view 14.5 X 27.5 cm and is mounted by a marie-louise in a beautiful modern baguette 30 X 42 cm.
