Rare Samardande rug in wool - Russia Circa 1970 - 20th century Drawing of Russian-Chinese inspiration, the province of Samrcande is located on the Silk Road, on the border of these two great countries. In the past, caravaneers who used this silk route bought these carpets woven during the long winters by local artisans and sold them on the Samarkand market. Woven according to the tradition in pure wool, coming from the sheep called HETIAN, which is a breeding proper to this region of the same name.
