Beautiful bright work of the painter Gustave Vidal which represents a lively view inside the Chartreuse in Villeneuvelez Avignon, more precisely around the rotunda of the fountain Saint-Jean.
Our work is part of the first period of production of the artist and was made between 1920 and 1930.

Pupil at the School of Fine Arts in Avignon under the direction of the painter Pierre Grivolas who will encourage his students including Gustave Vidal to go paint outdoors. He will be under the influence of the new school of Avignon and the abstract painters.
His style, clean, mixes knife technique and pictorial stylization.
He won many awards from the beginning, and exhibited around the world.

Size: 38 x 53 cm without frame and 52 x 67 cm with its carved and gilded wooden frame of origin of French manufacture of the house "Au Camouflage".
