Object description :

"Set Of Cutlery, Sterling Silver, Nineteenth Century."
These twelve cutlery, net style, are solid silver, in perfect condition. They have just been reviewed by our silversmith, they have been repolished and the teeth of the forks straightened. They carry on the spatula, under a helmet, very beautiful coats of arms which surmount the order of the Holy Spirit. The punch of Master Goldsmith presents the initials LC on each side of a caduceus for Leonard Chatenet, his mark was insculpted in 1807 and he died in 1830, he exercised at 6 rue Saint Anne then, successor of Jean Toulon from 1811 at the Harlay Court. The controls are: for nine of them a rooster first title for the period 1809-1819, for three of them an old man or profile of Michelangelo for the period 1819-1838. The cutlery being all perfectly identical, it suggests that the punches were struck at the junction of the two periods. They are presented in their original box whose cover is black leather. Early period of the Restoration. Weight 1740 gr.
