Pair of torches with a rare different subject, one representing a girl (the moon), the other a young boy (fire) each supporting a binet decorated with leaves. The slightly hipped bodies rest on a terrace of golden bronze leaves. Cylindrical marble base of Carrara finishing with a square curved pan garnished with gilded bronze beads. Small chips with marble visible on picture. No restoration or addition. Original gilding, light wear with binets. Beautiful carving and patina period. France, circa 1770-1780.
