"Portrait Of The Regent, First Quarter Of The Eighteenth Century"
Portrait of Philippe d'Orléans, known as the Regent, oil on canvas, stuccoed and gilt frame, first quarter of the 18th century.

Frame included (H x W): 51 x 42 cm. Philippe d'Orléans, son of Philippe d'Orléans dit Monsieur, brother of Louis XIV, Regent of the Kingdom of France from 1715 to 1723, represented in cuirass and sporting the blue cordon of the Order of the Holy Spirit. The face stands out from the dark background by its clear complexion raised by red and highlighted by the lace tie of a spotted white. Pleasant rendering of the wig, the reflective coldness of the armor and the silk cord. Canvas in very good condition. Restored frame.
