Paperolle * representing a church altar with its tabernacle and decorated with candlesticks, above a beautiful cross radiating (dedicated to St Victor and Marthe), presented in a chapel with columns, all decorated with flowers and plant friezes , XIXth century. This paperolle is in good condition and of exceptional quality. A note: some elements are loose and move inside, slight wear of time, see photos (see red arrows). * Paperolle: A hand-crafted technique that involves wrapping narrow strips of paper to create various forms and ornamental patterns. The paperolle is a very old technique used in the Middle Ages, in poor churches, to imitate gold or silver filigree decorations. The achievements were often reliquaries called reliquary to paperolles. Paperolle is a term derived from paper. It designates not only the technique, but also the realization in paper.
