"18th Century Chest Of Drawers"
Painted chest of drawers. The decoration was done using the so-called "arte povera" technique. Colored engravings were cut into small images which were used to form original scenes. This technique was much less expensive than trying to reproduce lacquers and paint techniques that were popular at the time. Hence the name arte povera or lacca povera. The chest is of drawers is 18th century, but the decor was heavily restored.
