"Watercolor XIX Justin OuvriÉ "boat Dock""
Superb watercolor of size representing boats quai and directed by Justin OUVRIÉ (1806-1879), famous watercolorist specialized in the view of cities. Justin Ouvrié is a student of Baron Taylor and Abel de Pujol at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He participated in the Salons from 1831, with views of cities and monuments, sometimes animated by historical or picturesque scenes. He met with great success under the July Monarchy. He received a 2nd class medal at the Salon of 1831, and a first medal in 1843. He received a third class medal at the 1855 World's Fair. Present in many museums, in France and abroad. This watercolor of superb quality shows a small harbor in a river with a city in the background. The details are precise and the colors very bright. In excellent condition and signed lower left, presented in its original frame gilt leaf.
