Kanac tap-beater, New Caledonia. Cut from a single piece in ironwood (casuarina), streaks are on a half of the perimeter. The use of tapa was mainly intended for trade during customs. Beautiful brown patina of use. Period: late 19th, early 20th. length: 38cm, max diameter: 7cm Item sold as a base
