the upper part of the watch-holder is embedded in the base.
At the location of the watch, a wrought iron hook of origin, with an applied bottom of an old red cloth.
The watch, symbol of time, has its location surrounded by laurel leaves united by a thought, the whole (at first look) overcomes a foliage, but seditiously evokes a dove upside down (symbol of the Holy Spirit and / or enlightened minds).
The whole is surrounded by two columns (evoking the columns of the Temple) covered with ivy (symbol of immortality).
On the back a hollow compartment, provided for the deposit of the key of the watch, is surmounted by a thought with three foliage, framed on both sides by two serpents (ancient symbol, Guilgamesh, Esculape ...).
Under the base, so not visible at first sight, a rose-cross in its symbolism of the four elements and cardinal points.
Condition: to note base re-fixed by old iron screws, and presence of a cut in facade at the left corner of the base.
