Curious Leather Luggage, 1830, Malletier Parisien Rignault

Superb rather cubic trunk, thick leather decorated with hot irons, covered cover. This open lid shows the beautiful label Rignault malletier, on original striped fabric background. The lower part, reinforced with inner iron plaques, opens with hinged leaf, which allowed to release a heavy object in a box (which we do not have). Below, four leather loops allowed to close the assembly by two belts. This trunk is a special order of the Brothers Vidal of Castres, circa 1830, publishers printers, they seem to have manufactured a mobile technique to print, this beautiful baggage allowed its transport. (because there are ink stains on the hinge of the door leaf) ... Beautiful etched brass cartridge.

Condition: good condition, but cut at the hinge of the leaf,
The leather is thick and a beautiful patina.
