""love Song" By Costantino Barbella (1852-1925)"
Very rare bronze sculpture according to the lost wax technique of Costantino BARBELLA (1852-1925) depicting two young Italian women singing a love song. This group patinated bronze medal is breathtaking realism and quality chiseled, signed on the base C. Barbella, located in Rome and with the number 23 in a small cartridge. Base in serpentinite rock called Levanto red marble.

Costantino Barbella (Chieti, 31 January 1852 - Rome, 5 December 1925) Italian sculptor.
He specializes in the compositions of small size terracotta or bronze, representing mainly rural scenes and customs of his native country. The sculptor knows a great success in Italy and abroad with these very realistic sculptures. In 1875 one of his sculptures "the joy of innocence" was bought by Vittorio Emanuele II and donated it to the Capodimonte Gallery. He took care to organize the Italian section at the Universal Exhibition of Anvers in 1894, which allowed him to extend his reputation abroad. He was also appointed Professor of the Royal Institute of Fine Arts. In 1899, he participated in the third International Exhibition of Art in Venice.
