"Great Okimon O: "happy Fisherman""
This large (about 10.5 cm excluding cane, 17.5 cm with), dates from the end of the Meiji era, around 1900. The sculpture is fine and the grounds of the kimono are engraved and enhanced in black (black wear due to age in places). This sinner, very happy with the beautiful fish he has just shot from the water, is signed in black under the base, but my Japanese did not allow me to decipher!
The fishing rod is broken at the level of the hand and will have to be re-glued.
