  • oval medallion is a miniature on a vellum depicting Saint Peter in prayer accompanied by a singing rooster. the mount is in filigree silver, the protection of the miniature is a cut crystal rock. The filigree decor is typical of a refined production of silver objects, whose fashion will win Italy, Spain, Holland and especially France. Louis XIV will promulgate an edict allowing the goldsmiths of Lyon, which it was a specialty, not to punch their delicate work. The crown possessed such works in cabinets: the King, before the melt of 1689, possessed, according to his inventory, 693 objects in silver and 165 in gold.
