Benitier Golden Wood A Miniature XVIII

Despite many gaps and accidents, this beautiful font about 30.5 X23 cm emits a strong presence.
Probably centered at the origin of a reliquary, this one missing has been replaced by a miniature representing the mystical marriage of Saint Catherine alas! intersected to center it on the Virgin and the Child. It bears a H. Schaff Roland signature and a date that I read with difficulty 1758, but which would be more plausibly late nineteenth.
