"Bronze Cauldron. 17th-18th Century."
Large curved belly. Strangled collar. Tripod base diverging and appointed. Twisted wrought iron handle, dangling on recessed projecting ears. Height at the neck: 20 cm. Neck diameter: 20.2 cm. Diameter on the body: 25 cm. Binary alloy of copper and tin, bronze, known since antiquity, can admit the addition of other metals (zinc, lead) in small quantities in order to make it more resistant, malleable or fuse. The color of the bronze varies from gray or brown pink, passing through all the shades of ocher, according to the proportions of the metals that compose it. The natural patina of bronze, depends on the conditions of conservation of the object: humidity, heat, cold, acid or basic environment, use of abrasive ... XVII-XVIII century. Very beautiful state.
