"Man Portrait - Circle Of Claude Lefèbvre"This portrait richly rich man has a particularity in its composition. This man's hand takes a completely unusual position, with fingers placed behind, in front, and on the purple silk. The veins are also visible and give the whole a life that is very rarely found in these portraits of the Louis XIV period at the end of the Grand Siècle. We can easily go to a painter around Claude Lefèbvre, or his studio. A relining took place in the nineteenth century, but the old canvas has kept its flexibility and movements. The frame is the original, with its patina and small accidents of life. The canvas has not undergone recent restoration and it seems that it is still in its nineteenth state that gives it even more its original appearance. Around 1690 Parisian private collection. 72 x 58 cm 98 x 77 cm for the frame.
