"Pastel Marquise De Pompadour Quentin Follower From The Tower"
In 1755 Maurice Quentin de La Tour presents a pastel of exceptional dimensions (1.77 x 1.31 m) representing the portrait of the Marquise de Pompadour. During the three years of execution of this painting he produced a large number of preparatory drawings visible at the Antoine Lécuyer Museum in St Quentin. This pastel is inspired by these many drawings.
