"Surrealist Painting : "the Lion Woman""Contrary to what some will say, no, I did not fall on the head to have hung this Painting !
I even regret not having found the bottom of workshop ... Certainly a self-taught painter who transcribed flat his surrealistic fantasies in the lineage of Clovis Trouille, Pierre de Bettencourt, Pierre Molinier or Alfred Courmes ...
The dreamlike strangeness that emerges of this depotrailed woman with a lion's head (but why black and white?), in a landscape of rocks with a top hat on the right and flowers on the left, is reinforced by the technique used: charcoal, colored pencils and pastels apparently waxed over.
Alas! No apparent signature and a stripe above the eye. Carton 57 X 45 cm, mounted in a recovery frame 63 X 50 cm.
