"Paire Of Cabriolet Armchairs, France, Transition Style, 18th Century Period"
Beautiful pair of cabriolets armchairs in solid walnut molded and carved.

Transition Style (1750-1774).

Lyon.

Eighteenth century.

The upholstery of these seats has been redone in a traditional way, with horsehair. There are covered with a high quality "chinese" moiré silk in the style of the 18th century.

These seats include the traditional Louis XV curve of the feet and the belt, assagie. The square back, also Louis XV, are placed in extension of the feet, announcing the architecture of the Louis XVI seat. The curved medallion is typical of the Louis XVI style.

The fabric used is a moiré silk embroidered with "Chinese" embroidery, depicting characters from the Orient fantasized on mounds, temples, trees, plants and exotic birds in flight, typical of the "Chinese taste" in the eighteenth century.
