The Goldscheider factory was founded in 1885 in Vienna by Friedrich Goldscheider. In 1888 he took part in the Universal Exhibition in Barcelona and in 1889 in Paris. This Orphée ceramic vase decorated with high relief represents Orpheus and his lyre, able to charm wild animals. It is characteristic of Art Nouveau. Goldscheider has worked together with many artists and ceramists including Adolphe-Jean Lavergne for this vase bearing the reference 1251. It is signed on the back, bears the mention Reproduction reserved and numbered. The 3 numbers correspond to: model number, quantity and artist. In very good shape. Height: 79 cm
