"Miniature Oil On Wood Scene Pastoral 19th Century"Very small rustic picture representing: "The city dweller who discovers the countryside". the scene is as naive as relevant in a satire between the urban world and the countryside. The two characters are in a plain, near a flock of sheep, a mountain landscape in the background, it is an oil painting on wood panel (micro-cracks due to time). This miniature has a tiny hole at the top in the middle that probably served to hang it. This hole is almost invisible with the frame. The frame, yet from the same period, is not born with this painting, but protects it from now on, as well as a glass on the front. The golden frame has many wear visible in the photos. I added at the back a small hook of brass suspension and paper gummed to prevent dust from getting inside. (photo on request). Note: despite its rusticity a charming little work of the first half of the 19th century.
Dimensions at sight: 9cm X 6.7 cm.
