"Francis Bellanger : "sauveterre De Bearn" 1920"Francis Bellanger (1885-1924) came one day to the Pyrenees on the day of the Feast of the most beautiful costume of Cauterets he saw the winner, fell in love and married, becoming more anchored in the region where he multiplied the landscapes, Natures dead and portraits.
He realized in 1920, in this very particular technique of very liquid oil on lines of pencils, a series of "Views of Sauveterre de Béarn" of which I have just found a third painting with the view between the trees on the medieval city since the Gave under a pink sky in the early morning.
It is an oil on cardboard 28 X 47 cm, mounted in its frame of golden time 38 X 56 cm.
