"Bronze Of Fratin "the Walking Tiger""
Beautiful bronze sculpture with green patina representing a walking tiger, signed Fratin, old edition. Christophe Fratin, born in Metz on 1.1.1801 and died in Raincy in 1864, a pupil of Vernet and Géricault in Paris, he worked for the Château de Dampierre, Sans-Souci and Babelsberg, he even decorated the Emperor's Park from Russia to St. Petersburg. He is presented as "formidable rival" of Barye by the critics. He donated two life-size dogs to his home town of Metz.
