She is mainly a famous figure of the theater alongside her companion and husband Jean Desailly, with whom she participated in the revival of theater after the war as part of the company Renaud-Barrault, before founding, always with him, the company Valère-Desailly. She has also made films, notably in the Beauty of the Devil and The Franciscan of Bourges.
