Oil on canvas by Heinrich Harm Kamerlingh ONNES (1893 - 1985) said HKO, Belgian school representing a street scene around 1950, bottom left monogram "HKO" and against-signed on the frame "Kamerlingh ONNES". This painter was born in Zoeterwoude in 1893, his father Menso Kamerlingh Onnes was a painter and member of the school of THE HAGUE, who in 1911 gave him permission to become an artist and taught him his first lessons in drawing and painting .From 1915 to 1925, his work was influenced by modernism. From 1925, he began taking everyday reality as subject and merely figurative works. He designed many stained glass windows and made portraits of Albert Einstein and Paul EHRENFEST. He characterizes his artistic work with the phrase "just messing around" .In 1953 he took part in the exhibition "Five contemporary potters" in the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen.
