Biography: Marie-Didière Calvès known as Marie Calvès is a French painter, born December 14, 1883 in Paris 9th and died January 26, 1957 in Soncourt-sur-Marne, in the Haute-Marne. Marie Calves seems to have shown very young talents in painting, benefiting more from the teaching of his father. She was noticed at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1895, at the age of twelve, where she won a silver medal. The influence of his father makes it begin in the country scenes, with the first representation of horses and sheep. But Marie turns away quickly to take an interest in dogs, painting them hunting, resting by the fire, and so on.
