"Console Wrought Iron Art Deco Signed Zadounaisky"
Charming bass console wrought iron hammered. In the form of a podium, it presents a scrollwork intertwined. Top in beige marble slabs. Signed on the front. Circa 1930. Height 66cm, width 74, depth 50. Michel Zadounaisky (1903-1983), an atypical sculptor of the twentieth century, mastered wrought iron as a person. He knew how to draw from this material all the artistic and sculptural potential, all the preciousness. An important figure in Lyon's artistic scene, he founded a school in this city whose pupils, like their master, strove to push the boundaries of the subject, breaking the line between high art and industrial technique.
