Euphémie Muraton (French 1840-1914) Aliases: Euphémie Duhanot was born at Beaugency (Loiret) in France and studied art with M.A. Muraton. Known for her genre, animal, and still life paintings, she debuted with her oeuvre at the Paris Salon in 1868. She married history painter Alphonse Muraton, and her son Louis Muraton was also a painter.
She became a member of The Society of French Artists from 1888, and received a bronze medal at ‘L’Exposition Universelle’ in 1889. Her work is represented in a number of French museums, including the Museum of Rouen, Le Havre, Mulhouse and Dieppe.
