Presumed Portrait of Elisateh Marguerite d'Orléans with a brooch of black diamonds and pearls, oil on canvas, dimensions 81 cm x 65 cm, with its carved wooden frame of origin: 93 cm x 77 cm. Period 17th century, attributed to Henri Gascard. Elisabeth Marguerite d'Orléans or Isabelle d4orleans (1646 - 1696) is the daughter of Gaston de France and Marguerite de Lorraine born in the Palais d'Orléans, currently the Palais du Luxembourg, seat of the Senate. Louis XIV's first cousin, she married the Duc de Guise, but after the death of her husband and her five-year-old son, the duke's branch of Guise died. Henri Gascard (1635 - 1701) is a French portrait painter, born in Paris, who has exercised his talent in the Courts of various European countries, England, Italy, but also in Paris where he became a member of the Royal Academy in 1680 .
