"Louis XV Period Marquetry Gambling Table - Encoignure. France Circa 1750 "
Very nice game table in fine satin argyle marquetry and Amaranth crosses. A central cartouche on a background of rosewood decorated with flowers with stems and leaves in boxwood tinged green. Clogs in chiseled bronze and openwork. The tray wall unfolds and discovers a felt for the playing surface. The 4th foot unfolds revealing a drawer storage for chips and games. Parisian production of the 1750s Louis XV to bring closer to the work of Pierre IV Migeon. We find on our table many features of this great cabinetmaker: sober lines, measured elegance, use of satin on a fine diamond markers inserting a very beautiful qulaité flower pattern in a polylobée reserve on a rosewood background, ornamentation of bronze almost absent. Superb furniture veneered all sides, this table can also be placed against the console wall, or be placed in an angle to become a corner. In perfect condition, our table has been fully restored with a real varnish stamp executed in the rules of the art by our cabinetmaker. There is no accident.
