Processional Staff, Eighteenth Century

If time has done its work, this object nevertheless retains all of its aura. Surmounted by a figure of the Virgin in carved and gilded wood, this processional staff was, obviously, used during processions and pilgrimages associated with Catholic worship. When the liturgical calendar did not require it, it was kept in the religious building to which it belonged, unless it was the property of a religious brotherhood or a professional corporation.

Some gaps are to be noted but in good general condition given the age of the object.
