Philipp Peter ROOS (ROSA DA TIVOLI) (1657-1706) (Attributed to) Dutch school.
Large oil on canvas depicting Pan charming his flute goats and sheep in a bucolic setting.
Peter ROOS, is a Dutch artist who, following his travels in the Mediterranean, called himself ROSA DA TIVOLI
. Note: Rove goat, at the far right of the painting is typical of Mediterranean regions.
Also note the work with both hands of the verifiable table including pictorial quality of two sheep one on the other in the center of the table as may be of lower quality.
This work is imbued with great poetry and a great symbolic (sexual?).
