"18thc Barbier-perruquier Hot Water Pot."
Here is a beautiful pot for hot water of barber, who accompanied the service of barbers-wigmakers in the seventeenth and eighteenth century.It is made of brass, very thick, once silver plated. The body, baluster shaped with oval section, is shouldered, it stands on a pedestal and is fit with a beautiful winding bail, the top part of which locks the lid once opened. The underside of the foot shows vestiges of the old silver plating.
Merit to be accompanied by a soap, sponge ball, beard dish.... 17thc working or beginning 18thc.
